We worship God with sincere hearts in a relaxed atmosphere, with upbeat music, and casual dress. Our gatherings are designed for all ages and include learning activities for children age 2 through grade 8.

We try to meet needs in the community by service projects which show the love of God. In the past, we have cleaned up trash on the Hammonds Plains Road, sponsored a Halloween Party for children, given safe rides home on New Year’s Eve, given away water bottles, and topped up people’s cars with windshield washer fluid.

Children and Youth

Children are among our highest priorities at HPCC. Since Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” (Matthew 19:14 NIV), we believe that His church should have the same attitude and emphasis. Children are always most welcome at HPCC events. We offer the following regular activities during the preaching time of our Sunday Morning worship services:

  • Infants through two years are cared for in a safe, clean, lovingly and competently staffed Nursery.
  • Preschool children learn Bible lessons in a class packed with age-appropriate hands-on activities, music and crafts.
  • Primary through grade 2 students are challenged with puzzles, crafts and games that reinforce the Bible lesson.
  • Grade 3 and 4 students are involved in lessons designed to teach them to navigate their way through the Bible and introduce them to Jesus as their Saviour.
  • Grades 5 through 8 also meet for discussion and learning activities.
  • Small Groups - We believe that participation in a small group of people from Hammonds Plains Christian Church offers the best opportunity for building friendships, growing in Bible knowledge, and caring for people’s needs both within and outside the church. A variety of study topics have been used by our small groups including:

    • Growing Kids Gods Way - by Gary Ezzo
    • First Steps - HPCC 101 - by Larry Bellville
    • Steps to Growth - HPCC 201 - by Jerry Patterson
    • Marriage Course - Alpha video series - by Nicky & Sila Lee
    • Purpose-Driven Life - by Rick Warren
